Sandra Bond Chapman, PhD, is Chief Director of Center for BrainHealth® at the University of Texas at Dallas and Dee Wyly Distinguished University Professor in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences. A pioneering leader in brain health, she has dedicated her career to discovering and applying scientific evidence to improve brain performance at all ages—in health, injury, and disease. Her work is supported by more than 50 funded research grants and recognized through more than 250 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Chapman is leading a global movement to achieve for the brain what has been accomplished for heart health. She is co-creator of The BrainHealth Project, a landmark collaborative study focused on doubling peak brain performance, protecting against decline, and extending cognitive capacity. With more than 30,000 participants from the U.S. and 65 countries, measured by a first-of-its-kind composite BrainHealth Index, and validated by more than 1,000 fMRI scans, the project has generated one of the world’s richest longitudinal brain health datasets and nearly a dozen research publications to date. Dr. Chapman’s work is transforming how people understand and optimize their brain health, empowering individuals of all ages to thrive today and into the future.
