Phyllis Jones is a native Chicagoan now living in the western suburbs and a proud alum of the two-year U.S. POINTER Study, where her journey from “Phyllis BP” (Before POINTER) to “Phyllis AP” (After POINTER) fuels her advocacy. She stood beside her mother through vascular dementia—supporting both her mom and her mom’s primary caregiver—and she also saw her grandmother live with dementia. These experiences have shaped her compassionate, family-centered perspective. After 30 years as a computer programmer (28 with one firm), she now works as a software tester/QA specialist at PTMA Financial Solutions and serves as a volunteer Community Educator with the Alzheimer’s Association. She spoke at AAIC 2025 representing POINTER participants and has since shared her story with national media to champion clinical trial diversity and practical, evidence-based steps families can use today. Ms. Jones is the mother of two and the delighted grandmother of two girls—her enduring “why.”
