Emily Holzknecht is a producer and reporter with the New York Times Opinion and an adjunct professor of video journalism at the City University of New York School of Journalism. Her recent short documentary for Times Opinion, "This Is One of the Hardest Jobs in America: Millions Are Doing It Alone," featured the voices of dozens of caregivers across the United States sharing how assuming the role of caregiver has impacted their lives and their relationships with their loved ones.
